Kyushin returns Vorena's scowl two-fold and looks back to Gin. "I came here because I fought with the others... And Legion is a persistent pest." He raises an eyebrow. Whoever this was, he looked vaguely familiar. "Perhaps I should be asking who you are."

Gin raises his eyebrows, surveying the newcomer. "You fought with Ayn and the others? Hmm. I'm Gin Avalon. Nice to meet you, Kyushin."

"Avalon? One's father?... Peh." Clearly Kyushin isn't big on conversation, particularly this one. He looks over to Vorena, not caring to get a name, then back to Gin again. "I take it Legion returned? Gaia was not harmed?"

Vorena crosses his arms, the scowl not waning. "If this 'Legion' you speak of is the foul archdemon that was trying to take Ayn, then yes he has returned."

This guy was less than friendly, Gin thought. Could he be trusted? "She's here in the library, next to Lara." Gin points.

"Tsk tsk. Show some respect, Fury One. These men are obviously superior to you." Alinos looks down at the Gin's and Kyushin from the top of a bookcase, how he entered the castle remains unknown.

Kyushin glances at the visitor and sighs. "I am aware of that..." He lowers himself to the floor and sits with his legs crossed and Ranna propped against his shoulder. "I thought we agreed not to use that old name, Alinos."

Gin looks up at the newcomer, then back to Kyushin. "Fury One? Like Fury Three?" Gin knew Fury Three had died, but didn't acknowledge him until know. He looks up to Alinos. "And just who are you?"

"Me?" Alinos shrugs and floats down from the shelf with his wings extended. "Nobody." He turns to Kyushin. "Legion's gone back to Rand. It's best if all of you be on your guard."

Ayn seems somewhat distressed by the newcomers, and she gets up and leaves.

Vorena arches an eyebrow at the two strangers. He doesn't say anything, however, and remains seated, looking through the book he had been browsing.

"Yes." The response comes as almost a growl and Kyushin shoots Gin a fierce look. Apparently he wasn't happy about the connection--Gin must have seen the grave. He turns his attention back to Alinos. "I was aware of that. Though I doubt Gaia is. Here." With his right arm he tosses his sheathed sword to the angel. "Think you can tell me how that works?"

Gin doesn't even bother with Kyushin, as he's looking at Alinos with a snarl, obviously feeling disrespected. "Listen, Angel, don't come here and talk to me like that. Thinking you can come here and push me around, I survived the war." Gin's face was starting to get red with anger.

Alinos rolls his eyes at Gin. "Calm down, I was kicked out long before the War. I wasn't involved so don't go crusading on me." Alinos catches Ranna and examines this. "Well isn't this an intresting piece of hardware. The Angels didn't make it, that's for sure.. Doesn't look Abbissian either." Alinos shrugs. "We'll I'm absolutely clueless as to who created it, but I can tell you how it works. Which is all you cared about, I'm sure." He unsheathes Ranna and slashes with it a few times. "The 'Rift' ability creates ripples in time and space, since the ripple effects all realities, it can open a gateway to an infinite amount of worlds. It's activated by a strong will or desire, it could probally be activated accidently in a novice's hands." Alinos sheathes it. "Actually choosing where the portal opens, would take a good deal of meditation and discipline. Something you're very well capable of doing." Alinos tosses the sword to Kyushin. "Your younger brother figured it out, so can you."

Kyushin catches it by the sheath and puts it back up against his shoulder. "As I thought. Interesting for a sword. In the right hands it would make Sin look like a toy... I wonder just how it wound up in his hands?"

Alinos shrugs. "I can't be sure, but better his than some others that you know. I suggest you make sure to continue to keep that sword away from them."

Gin frowns, not liking that the Angel was getting the better of him. "A Fallen, huh?" He doesn't say anything else, but continues to watch him with contempt.

Alinos crosses his arms. "Correct, a Fallen." Alinos snaps to the broken window, but finds nothing and relaxes. "Strange..."

Avalon looks over to Vorena, shaking his head. "It would seem so. Looks like Gale was popular." He walks to a seat across from Vorena and sits down. "Would you like a drink?"

"Considering you actually defeated Legion with less than two blows, I'm sure you're quite capable of protecting Ayn."

Lara notices Ayn has left and goes to look for her.

Avalon walks back in the library, with a wine bottle in one hand and a glass of wine in the other. "Here you go, Vorena." He holds both out for him to take. After he does so, Avalon sits back down across from Vorena.

Vorena arches an eyebrow at Avalon and takes the glass and bottle. "Thank you." His gaze shifts to Alinos. "True, although my purpose isn't to hover over Ayn and watch her every move. Toddler or not, she is perfectly capable of taking care of herself. I plan on making sure she learns how again before I leave."


Ayn has made her way to a room full of antique weapons and is sifting through them. She starts slightly when Lara enters the room but seems all right otherwise. "Oh, hi Lara.."

"I have some old bruised feelings to mend.." Vorena swirls the wine in his glass then takes a sip.

Ayn shrugs "All right, I suppose." She starts rummaging through a box of what looks like old firearms.

Alinos nods as his massive wings wrap around himself. "It seems we have reached a point of quiet. What an uneasy feeling..."

Lara sits down near Ayn and silently watches her look through the box of weapons.

Gin was look away at one of the open windows. He snapped back and looked at Vorena and Alinos. "So tell me, Angel, what is your purpose here?"

Ayn picks up a gun, points it at the wall and pulls the trigger. There's a deafening bang as the gun fires a rusted bullet in a dark cloud of dust and smoke. "It figures these things are still loaded."

Alinos shrugs. "I've decided to assist in protecting Ayn."

Lara looks in the box. "If I can find one that works I'll have to take it."

Vorena frowns. "Brother, despite the differences our races have, the angel has a right to care for the planet he walks on just as much as we do." He looks back at Alinos. "I doubt you mean any harm, so I have no objections."

Ayn rummages through another box and pulls out a large and heavy sword. It's only slightly rusted, and the hilt has intricate designs on it, appearing to be chronicling a series of events. "Wow, why was this lying around in here and not being used?" She swings it around, testing its balance. Surprisingly, the sword seemed to fit her. "Wonder who made it."

Alinos grins and props his legs up on a table.

Lara looks at that. "Wow, it's one of ours. Old as hell though, and it doesn't appear to be one of the Onarav ones."

"Hmm.. Think Gin would know?" Ayn puts the sword in its sheath and carries it back towards the library.

"He's an angel, even if he's a Fallen, I don't care. He came to check up on Ayn, good for him. Ayn is okay, he can be on his way now."

Vorena frowns again. "I thought we had come here to settle differences, brother."

Ayn enters a few minutes later, looking at them. She shifts uncomfortably on seeing her father, then tosses the sword at Avalon. "What do you make of it?"

"Differences with each other, Vorena."

A second later, a sword lands on his lap. Avalon looks up at Aynand then back down to the sword. He picks it up, examining it. He moves his fingers over the designs, and then over the blade itself. It looked old but it wasn't dull. In fact, it was in excellent condition. Avalon sat there admiring it for a second before he spoke. "It's a beautiful sword, and it appears to be Abbissian which is most odd, as I've never seen it before."
